FULL MOON YOGA FLOW | 31 October 2020 | 16:00-18:00

Tuning into full moon energy: We will tune into the full moon energy, as the moon shines at her fullest and brightest in her monthly cycle. Lunar energy is the embodiment of the divine feminine in the cosmic universe (solar energy is the embodiment of the masculine). This full moon workshop will encourage you to let the light in, be the light, and shine your brightest. You will be guided through a simple full moon breathing exercise, some reflective journalling questions and a group card reading, to help you harness the power, fullness and expansiveness of the full moon.

Physical flow: You will enjoy a vinyasa flow practice – evoking the smooth and rhythmic qualities of the oceanic tides – incorporating asanas such as warriors 1 and 2, Goddess pose / horse, half moon, and dancer pose. You will transition to the ground for some gorgeously relaxing yin poses towards the end, before coming into a full moon poetry inspired savasana.

Emotions: Full moons can manifest the overflow of emotions, and we tend to be more headstrong during this time. Rather than start an argument or create drama, release the tension through this yoga workshop. Leave the workshop feeling connected to yourself and the cosmic universe, with your own personal energy restored and refreshed, and full of glowing expansive energy…

NEW MOON YOGA FLOW | 15 November 2020 | 16:00-18:00

Tuning into new moon energy: We will tune tuning into the new moon energy, as she emerges from total darkness to light up the sky in this beginning phase of her monthly cycle. Lunar energy is the embodiment of the divine feminine in the cosmic universe (solar energy is the embodiment of the masculine). This new moon practice encourages you to submerge into your sacred feminine softness, turn your gaze inwards, and plant seeds of intention. You will be guided through a simple new moon breathing exercise, some reflective journalling questions and a group card reading, to help you allow new beginnings to arise, and let go of what no longer serves you.

Physical flow: You will enjoy a vinyasa flow practice – evoking the smooth and rhythmic qualities of the oceanic tides as you move – incorporating asanas such as puppy pose, sphinx, crescent moon lunge, child’s pose and tree pose. You will transition to the ground for some gorgeously relaxing yin poses towards the end, before coming into a new moon poetry inspired savasana.

Emotions: New moon energy is potent. You may feel weary and low in vitality as energies of change and transformation boil up to the surface. Be gentle with yourself. Make space for ‘you-time’ so you can be inwardly orientated and introspective (even just for 5 minutes here and there). Allow the new moon to pour blessings of newness upon you. Leave the workshop feeling connected to yourself and the cosmic universe, having let go of what no longer serves you, and ready to watch your sacred seed of intention grow and manifest into something new…

YOGA TEACHER: Sherin Shefik

me2Sherin has been practicing yoga regularly for over 18 years, and teaching vinyasa flow and yin yoga for over eight years. She has hosted nine residential yoga retreats.

She mainly teaches vinyasa flow and yin yoga, but incorporates other styles of yoga too, such as restorative and hatha yoga. She teaches classes from the heart, combining flowing yang sections with gentle yin and restorative sections to encourage a deep sense of relaxation and nurturing self-care. She loves to incorporate poetry, positive affirmations, oracle cards, and healing chakra energy. Classes are adapted to suit the experience and mood of the participants, but all classes are suitable for all levels. Sherin always encourages students to connect to the wisdom of their own body and listen…

Yoga is one of Sherin’s greatest joys, which is connected to her love of the creative arts, nature, poetry, mindfulness, animals, philosophy, Shakti (feminine uprising), spirituality, and the cosmic universe.
