The first three yoga retreats I hosted were at Gaunts House in Dorset. It is a manor house situated on a stunning estate of protected Dorset countryside totalling nearly 2,000 acres.
The next four yoga retreats I hosted were at St Katherines in Oxfordshire. It is a beautiful, peaceful and green space in Oxfordshire, and only 30 mins by train from London.
The eighth yoga retreat in summer 2018 will see a return to Gaunts House in Dorset!
Yoga and mindfulness
Each class is designed around one of four natural elements (earth, air, fire and water). I will suggest at the beginning of each class that you set an intention and then you can work with that intention during the class. So I encourage guests to try and take some time out to establish and connect with the following:
earth: I am grounding ____________ (choose something that you want to establish more of in your life)
air: I am opening to ______________ (choose something you want to open your heart to)
fire: I am igniting ________________(choose something which you need motivation towards)
water: I am flowing / letting go of ______________ (choose something which needs to be released, circulated)
The mindfulness meditation sessions will be lead by Shenel, facilitator from the iCHOOSEMe programme and qualified teacher. She has trained at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre. The mindfulness meditation sessions will include a variety of mindful practices such as the body scan.
