A critique of rhymed poetry

Rhyme in poetry

Is a caged monkey wearing

A miniature green and yellow suit

Decorated with tinkering gold bells

Blackmailed into performing

A silly little dance

For the whooping nitwit

Spectators.

Rhyme in poetry

Is that moment where you are

Manipulated into squeaking

“Cheeeese” for the camera

Flashing obnoxiously in your face.

Fake smiles.

Forced pretty.

Rhyme in poetry

Is holding hands

Under a care-bear rainbow and

Laughing hysterically

Whilst floating on a

Cotton wool cloud.
